The town welcomes research by the community and is requesting all correspondence be sent to the Town of Bovina PO Box 39 Bovina Center NY 13740 so it can be centralized, copied and distributed. Research and findings here which will be reviewed by Town Board member Roger Brain before being compiled at the library.

The boards have heard from three presenters. Mark Schneider from Delaware Electric Cooperative gave an overview of wind turbines.

Glenn Nealis from the Delaware County Department of Economic Development gave an overview of the IDA and PILOT or payment in lieu of tax payments at the July 10th meeting. You can read the workshop minutes here.

Rosemary Nichols, a land use attorney hired by the Town of Bovina to guide the boards on this issue and who is also the attorney for the Town of Meredith, spoke about financial vehicles for funding road repair and decommissioning at the July 16th workshop. You can read the workshop minutes here.

Our goal is educate ourselves and the community about wind energy in our area, and to encourage broad public participation as Bovina considers this issue. The Alliance is open to all.
