We are a group of concerned citizens from the Stamford/Roxbury/Gilboa area of Delaware and Schoharie Counties in Upstate New York who banded together in the late summer of 2006 to fight what we believe is an ill-conceived alternative energy project which will have a devastating impact on our rural lands and wilderness. While the current plan focuses on Stamford, and extends into Roxbury, the citizens of Gilboa will have “front row seats” to the devastation this project will cause; many landowners in Gilboa have panoramic views of the ridge being targeted for development.

We support small residential and farm-based alternative energy initiatives. We believe that these home-grown energy sources paired with conservation efforts can put a dent in our fossil fuel dependence without endangering the people, the wild-life or the landscape that make up our truly unique environment.
